Information and Communication Technologies Training

Technologies are in every aspect of daily life and students are becoming very proficient at using technology as an edifying resource. Conversely, numerous schools are progressively not prepared to integrate technology into the classroom. Subsequently, teachers are not on the same pace with their students because much emphasize has not been put in place to prepare digital immigrant learners for the networked computers overflowing into their classrooms. Thus, it is essential that Ms. Da Silva Beharry conduct an e- training and cdlf2f training sessions. The sessions will focus on bridging the gap while assisting teachers to master Web 2.0 Tool, which is the second generation of World Wide Web and offers the facility of online collaboration and data distribution amongst people in an efficient manner. Alternatively, the teachers will learn to post other digital learning resources in course management. Secondly, Beginner, Experienced and Well Experienced Teachers need training in Information and Communication Technologies towards enhancing the pedagogical skills that will encourage student learning and prepare them to be digital-technology- proficient-educators for 21st-century schools. It is also essential for Julia to examine the training needs of teachers towards sustaining No Teacher Left Behind which connect with No Child Left Behind (U.S. Department of Education, 2011). In this scenario, she will develop goals and objectives to examine the training needs of teachers/ educators towards staff development in Prince George’s County School Districts (PGCD), which located in Maryland, USA.

Development of Knowledge and Skills

Ms. Da Silva Beharry experience encompasses her knowledge and skills inspire her to design and implement a holistic teacher training model in a cyber digital learning face-to-face (cdlf2f) language context towards the sustaining efficient staff development. In this regard, Julia will propose a cdlf2f which also mean a digital e-training model that will consider as the Practice Reflection and Collaboration (PRC) module. This module will discuss the rationale and theoretical context of sustaining each significant component of the module. The module will implement in a 1 to 5-week e-teacher training program with the cdlf2f participation of trainee teachers. With this in mind, the training model focus on what strategies that will encourage the trainees' professional and personal development to be more competent and self-confident digital native e-teachers. Julia’s current Digital Learning course has considered for this scenario.

Goals and Objectives

These goals and objectives developed in alignment with the broad range of diverse culture of the Prince George's County School District (PGCSD) in the information that outlined in number 1 to number 2. In Goal 1, constant training and support will be provided for teachers and staff members to integrate instructional design with Web 2.0 Tool to enhance their pedagogical skills and inspire student learning in all content areas. Based on this scenario, the training sessions will promote lifetime information and communication technologies and information literacy skills. In this regard, Goal 1 will conform with the Objective, by the end of the training sessions, 95 percent of educators will be proficient in District Information Technology Proficiency Standards for Educators. Whereas in Goal 2, the teacher, staff, and community will access to apply Web 2.0 Tool and to facilitate and work with higher thinking skills in the learning process. In this regard, Goal 2 will accomplish the Objectives by the end of the training sessions. Based on this scenario, 100 percent of teachers will be proficient in the Maryland Teachers Technology Standards (Maryland State Department of Education, 2016) and   95 percent of educators will be proficient in District Proficiency Standards for Educators.

Overview of Blog and Wordle Web 2.0 Tool

Web 2.0 tool is a universal language about specific software-applications of the Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW), including blogs and wordle video sharing services, and social media websites. Some of these websites consist of Twitter and Facebook, which focus on interactive sharing and participatory collaboration and instead of pure content delivery. As a future health educator, who is also known as a digital native, she recognized over the years that there are various types of learners. Julia continues to acknowledge that people have different intelligence quotient. Consequently, they have different learning ability as well as diversified intelligence. She will utilize her diverse skills to develop educational state curriculum, in particular, Health Education curriculum, assess Blog and Wordle Web 2.0 Tool,  which is also known as education/instructional technology materials. In her future profession, her duties will also require her to use Web 2.0 Tool to train teachers and occasionally develop effective curricula towards sustaining this 21st-century learning.

Julia will also conduct regular meetings with appropriate committees and school staff to review, recommend, and assess educational software applications, and other Web 2.0 Tool meets students’ developmental needs while stimulating student learning. Thus, it is imperative to highlight that teachers are accountable for determining students’ growth and developmental skills; choices of curricular activities with relevant and current resources; guidelines that govern children's participation; expectations from parents and communities; and the standards and rubrics that govern them as teachers. In this regard, it imperative that Ms. Da Silva Beharry highlight the goals and objectives that are in alignment with the training module.
